I just bought a pretty nice 385 mounted field cultivator. Dad says another company made them for Oliver but he can't remember who. Does anyone know? It might be useful for me to know when it comes to looking for parts. Thanks.

I'm sure that the 385 field cultivator was built in Oliver's South Bend plant. The earlier 345 field cultivator was purchased from Glenco. The 345 shank springs were horizontial where the 385 had springs that are at 45 degrees.

I think that is the one built by Glencoe. If you look at them they are not alike. The shank holders and placement of the springs is different. This is like 40 years ago. A field cultivator and a hitch to pull your 540 6 row planter and it was no till. We sold both at that time.

Thanks Mr. Schweibert and Mr. Starr. After I got the field cultivator home Dad looked it over and said, " that isn't the field cultivator I was thinking of, it has different springs on it, it's a better design." It must be the Oliver made version!
