What are the recommended products to seal and waterproof the concrete top of a 4 flue chimney? The concrete was poured about 6 weeks ago and now I want to prevent water from penetrating and freezing. Does the presence of heat affect a regular sealer? Would roofing tar be ok? Thanks

I put dry lock on my 2 flue chimney. It's basically portland cement and rubber. Same thing on the inside of my basement walls. Has been up there for several years with no problems. It is pretty thick and is white in color. The mud cap was all that was painted and it needed it pretty bad.

Thompson's water seal makes a rubberized paint that bonds real well to concrete. Used it on my parents chimmney cap.
