I got the 1650 started again today. I had to replace the wire from the solenoid to the start terminal on the keyswitch. Waiting on a new solenoid yet, should have that on Tuesday. Using one I had here, but it only has 3 terminals, no terminal for the coil wire. Was planning on replacing the keyswitch, (doesn't always work anymore) but the new one I bought from TSC is sending 12 volts out to the starter with the key in the run position not just when I turn the key to start. Any suggestions on this one? Bad Switch?

If I look around, I should be able to find the old key switch I took out of my 1600 when I restored it. It still works fine, just a little rusty and my uncle used a screw driver as a key once when he was much younger (Don't ask) Otherwise, a new key switch from the AGCO dealer really didn't cost much at all, I'm pretty sure it was less than $20. Plus it comes with 2 new keys...

Hey Don, how are things in your neck of the woods? We got 6" of snow here and corn still standing in the field. The farmer that rents most of my land is taking it off right now. I still need to get it plowed once he is done, hopefully the ground isn't too frozen yet. The 1650 is going to get a workout I guess. Let me know about that key switch. Thanks.

Adam

Well, we didn't get much snow, about 1" on firday and another dusting today. I still have about 4 acres to plow under, but the 1855 is in the shop right now. I'll see if I can find that switch tomorrow, I'll be sure to let you know.

I forget, which part of the state are you in again? I know there's a few guys kinda south of me on my way when I go to visit the fiance at Lakeland College, over between Plymouth and Sheboygan. I might be going through sometime this weekend, otherwise not til next semester.

I am just south of Chilton about 7 miles. Let me know if you find that switch.

I found the switch yesterday right before I headed out the door to go to work, pretty sure I'll be driving through chilton this weekend.

You can send me an email too.

Will do. I only had about 15 minutes to look today and stuff got shuffled around this year. I've got a few ideas where it may be though...

Use the one with only one small terminal and install a diode to prevent feedback?
