I just bought a 4-180. The clutch drags and I cannot get it into gear with out shutting the engine off. Clutch pedel travel seems good however, I do not have a book for a 4-180 to know for sure. Is there some other adjustment? Thanks

Hi Adam, A4-180 should have a two disk clutch. The floating plate in the middle has spring loaded cams that seperate the plates when the clutch is disengaged. If the clutch has been hot the springs can loose their tension and let the disks drag. Like the other post said dust from the clutch can also bind them. Good luck, WB.

Some times the clutch springs get full of dirt, take small cover off bell housing and flush with water, pressure washer and operate clutch with engine running.
