I can buy a 1960 Cockshutt 560 with a perkins diesel engine in Canada. This tractor has PTO,
3 point hitch, wheatland fenders, power steering, adjustable front end(been welded)and new rear tires. This tractor is in very good shape for it age.Is there anything that I should check or look for and what would a fair price be for this tractor.I read that there were problems with the perkins diesel engine in the Cockshutt 560.Were these diesel engines in anything else and are parts hard to find and expensive.
Thank you Lonnie

Pretty good tractors very good on fuel same basic tractor as the 570 except the 560 has the Perkins and the 570 has the Hercules. Between the 2 I like the 570 better

Lonnie W,

The Cockshutt 560 is a GREAT Tractor. Many are still working and running well today!

I have salvage 560 tractors, and many new and used parts on stock.

First of all are you sure it is a 1960 model? The reason I asked they all use a Perkins. They all have the same bore & Stroke. But 1959 & up are direct injection engines while the older ones and those used in a Golden Eagle or Cockshutt 40PD-4 are indirect injection. The answer were they used in anything else? In North America NO. In Europe YES. Remember Perkins is now part of Cat and so as with any buyout or merger some replacement parts are dropped by the wayside. Check first. My 2 cents worth.
