The tractor start real good does not turn over many times and it is running . Smoke does not go away at all, blue smoke under load no black smoke. It has a new mechanical guage in it and I had a head job done on it in the spring to clean the head up. Thanks Wayne

Did it smoke like this before you had the head done?

As per normal RAB has asked you to check on some important items. How does it start? Does the smoke go away when you put a load on the engine?

Temperature guages are well known to read wrong. Might be the guage, might be the sender unit, might be the voltage. Unless it is a mechanical guage in which case it could be the guage or it could be covered in cooling system build-up. Blue smoke generally indicates using oil, so could mean excess wear or too cool running (clearances are bigger at cold).

That said you need to check the actual temperature with an accurate thermometer or pyrometer. If tractor is not warming up the thermostat may not be working or removed (check for flow through rad when cold). Temperature should be controlled by the thermostat. May be 82 up to 88 depending on winter or summer running types. Celsius, that is.
