I stopped along side the road to take a picture of some Olivers used by a local custom hay crew. I didn"t examine the Industrial Oliver to find out exactly what it was. . .

the bright yellow thing appears to be the center of the wheel from the deere in the backround.

Looks like a later 1950 from here, dry air cleaners, (yea I know late 1900 C models had them as well) tapered spokes on steering wheel and trying to see now if the unit has a hydrapower and what the bright yellow object behind the engine is.

I agree - looks like a later 1950. However I suspect it may be a wheatland tractor painted yellow and not an industrial.

Reason: The few 2WD 4-digit Oliver industrials I've seen have all used solid cast front wheels with 20" truck-style centerless clamp-on rims rather than the stamped steel 6-lug ag-style wheels as in the photo.

Cool old tractor, whatever it is!

Talk about overkill for the baler! He could get buy with a tractor half that size and use a heck of a lot less fuel. Could stand to lose the duals also.

Neighbor pulls his Deere 8300 MFWD dualed up with Deere 568 round baler. It makes for better floatation and less ruts in our sometimes spongy Alfalfa and wheat straw fields. He can make some big tight bales with that setup.
