I just received a Clectrac HG that I am going to try and get running. But I have not been able to locate any of the basic parts like plugs, points, cap, wires and such. Also I have no experience with a magneto system any help, advise, service instrcutions would be a great help! I have a couple of other older tractors but this is the first crawler. If you and give me any information that can help.

Thanks Very Much!!

Keith

If your local parts store(s) don't have listings for Ag equipment, they can try looking under "stock" engines (Buda, Continental, Herc etc). Parts catalogs differ on what came in your HG: either a Herc IXA3 or Herc IXK3 (one may have superceded the other during production). Check your engine for an ID tag, as the original engine might've been replaced by a newer or more powerful one.
As to the mag, it should have it's own tag, and Ag parts stores should have catalogs listing your mag; if your best local sources say it's all obsolete, email and I'll send some obsolete-parts sources to try. Good luck.

You should be able to find those parts in any good auto parts stores. I know thats where I got all the stuff I needed for my OC-3 which is almost the same machine. I also have scanned into my computer the page from an OC-3 manual about the mag so if you need that info just drop me an e-mail and I can sned you that info
