When did they introduce dual pipes on a 70 and what is the purpose? How many years did they use them? Did these tractors utilize a fuel pump or gravity fed? Thanks for the update

was told valve life was the main reason as 70's were notorious for burn't valves when they were main field tractors

The dual exhaust is not factory. Some pullers (or puller wannabes) do it because the exhaust manifold has two outlets, with one of them being plugged at the factory. Gravity feed with a couple of variations.

Actually it was alot of FARMERS that put the dual exhaust on them to get rid of the extra heat to spare thier valves from burning up.

AND..... ..

It was cheaper to install an extra pipe coming straight up through the hood rather than combine with the other manifold half.

Never a "factory" thing. ~brad
