Has anyone ever heard of a tractor manufacturer
who made models that were named after states (for example - Illinois and Wisconsin models)?
Do you know who the manufacturer was?
Any idea where I can find further info on it?
Thanks!!!

I don't know of any manufacturer that named their models after states. But, in the early years of tractor production there were more tractor manufacturers than an alley cat has fleas. During which time there were several tractor makers that named their companies after states for example my uncle owns three of the Wisconsin tractors made in Sauk city, Wisconsin. There was also a company that built a tractor called the illinois super drive tractor. I have also seen the Indiana tractor that another post talked about it was a purpose built cultivator tractor built in Anderson, Indiana. For further information on these orphan trctors I suggest you look through either C.H. Wendel's ENCYCLOPEDIA OF AMERICAN FARM TRACTORS or 1919 THE YEAR OF THE TRACTOR by Alan C. King. Other than that feel free to post or email me with any other questions. HAMMERHEADD

The Wisconsin-Tractor is a czech Tractor named TZ 4K-14 it had been developed from a smaller one, that will still be produced in the czech-republic, it was very common in the Comecon-States.
