I use a 406 model to tedd hay, chip wood with a
Valby on the 3-pt, pull hay trailer and use a
3-pt cement mixer. Great machine for many uses.
Mine has the 3-way dump body which is handy in
tight places. The Mercedes diesel is cheap to run
and the 20 speed gives you all kinds of control.
When lunch time comes you can shoot down the road
at 45 mph and it the diner. Love it.

would they have enought power for a small no till drill, say 10 to 15 ft. also how sharp turners are they. Just curious, what part of the country are you located.

The best all around Mog for farm use is the 406
or U900. It has 84hp, 20spd, airlock axles and is
shorter then a standard 8' pickup truck. Most of
the other models are non-ag units more geared to
military and commercial uses. It turns almost as
short as a tractor and with 20 speeds forward and
8 in reverse it can run about implement. If you
need a source for Unimogs I can give you the name
of someone you can get any type from.

Yep, I have a Cat II 3-pt. You can have a front
mount 3-pt as well and a front PTO and hydraulics.
Chris Elliott sells all types of Unimogs and can
have one speced to meet your needs. He is located
in Rhode Island but ships all over the country.
He has 2 going to Montana and 1 to Florida this
week I believe. Here's his info:

Hi Jack,

what a kind of farming do You want the Unimog for?
There are a lot of different HP-ranges. Starts with 34HP at the older ones, from appr. late 60' to early 70' up to 250HP to the newer ones.
If Unimog has a 406 it has 70 or 80 HP.
In Germany there are the most Unimogs in use for hauling at hauling-contractors, at communal and Highway Services and at the Army. Some of the for Farming, but not so much, most at agricultural or forestry-contractors. The Brand "Werner" which is a manufacturer of forestry-winches is building an articulated-tractor, based on the Unimog. Best You can do, is ask Mercedes-Benz, there are a lot of people who can help You. You can also contact the "Hohenheim University" (Universitaet Hohenheim) which has a Test area for Tractors. If You don't find something about them, post it here, or send me a mail. I gonna try to help You.

Hi Frank!

You have to serach for "Werner Seilwinden" or "Werner Unitrack", may You have more success than I had, maybe Werner doesn't exist no more.
They where located in Trier in Germany.
