My Satoh will start three or four times and run great and then not even try to turn over(it may click once). Has rebuilt starter, new ignition and battery. Any suggestions? Does it have a negative or positive ground? A friend installed the battery and he has it on a negative ground.
Thanks.

Bill,
I doubt it is a positive ground personally.
If it was hooked up backerds, thats a southern term, it would blow the chargeing system or the battery.
Take a circuit testor and see if the ignition switch works when it "clicks" when you try to start it.
Check the contacts everywhere, where wires terminate into another part of the circuit. It might be a short(open actually) somewhere.
Check to see if the alternator is chargeing, it should be putting out 13.5 volts, + or - a little, at full engine RPM.
Hope this helps,
