When I pull the lever up to raise the three point hitch the lower links jerk as they raise and there is sort of a grinding type sound coming from under the seat. Grinding is really not the right word to describe the sound but it's the best I can come up with right now. It's made the sound before if I had the lower links raised all the way up but if I would drop them the sound would quit. My neighbor thinks there is air that needs bled out what is your opinion? And if it is air how do I go about bleeding it out. By the way thanks for all the help on my rebuild question.

I am having a problem getting a pin to go in front part of hitch on the tractor. I was wondering if I bent something.I do not have a manual . My stepfather bought this tractor used and both of us really do not know much about it. All comments and replys will be welcomed.

Thanks for all the help, I found the problem. I checked everything you said and it turned out to be the filter. It must have alot more dirt in it than it looks, it looks clean. Thanks again for all your help.

Either the big o-ring between the control valve body and the cylinder is blown out or the brass ring that surrounds the o-ring is blown out.

You'll have to remove the 4 nuts that hold the control valve on the front of the lift housing. You may also have to remove the PTO lever. Then after pulling the valve housing out an inch or so, you'll have to reach into the gap with some needle nose pliers and disconnect the control linkage on the RH side. Then the whole control valve will come off. You'll see the brass ring and o-ring still stuck to the lift housing. Replace them and the gasket.

First thing I would check is the hydraulic filter screen inside the suction line on the right lower side of engine. There are two bolts that hold it in place. While you have it out, take a light and look up inside the housing and make sure the opening is not clogged with an old gasket. This screen can be cleaned, but it is a good idea to replaced it with a new one if it has been in service a few years.

i dont think air is the problem. i have to blow my system out all the time with the air compresser to free the blockage in the lines. im not sure the fix but i dont think air is it. (but, i have been wrong before)
