I ran across a 2028 Century which is distributed by American Jawa, same distributor of Zetor. Dollar for dollar this tractor seems to blow away the major brands, it just doesn't have the name. Does anyone own one of these or heard good or bad about them? Are they reliable? Likely to be in the U.S. permanent?

I'm impressed with the value of the tractor but I'm nervous about the obscure name.

I've had a 35 HP with loader for 2 years and it seems very comparable to the 4WD Kubota I had previously. Unfortunately I'm going to have to sell this one for a larger model. Moved to FLA in '03 and lost about 200 trees in the 04 hurricanes. I'm still cleaning the things up and need a loader that can move at least a ton or more at a time. I also should have opted for the AG tires instead of the turf style

Century is built by Kukje motors from S.Korea and imported by American Jawa.
The 2028 has a 3 cylinder indirect injection diesel, 12 speed syncronised shuttle trans, and all cast iron castings, not stamped steel or aluminium.
Weight is 3649lbs and 4960lbs with a C-System (Century brand) quick disconnect loader, definately heavier than most of the competition.
The 2028 comes with wet disk brakes, hydrostatic steering, and two speed PTO.
Just about every bell and whistle a person would want in a small tractor.
Being imported by American Jawa is a plus and parts are not a problem with a good local dealor or overnight from a prefered dealor in another region.
Century is a great tractor at a great price and should be in the US for many years to come.
Hope this helps,

We purchased a Century 3035 w/ front end loader, brush hog and box blade complete with heavy duty trailer from Coker Enterprises her in Tyler, Tx. for $16,800. Good deal. Have had the tractor for about 6 mos. and have been very satisfied with it. Comfortable and incredibly useful. Seems to be a very well built tractor.
