I have been looking at the Century 2028 tractor 4x4 with FEL. I like the look of the tractor and its features. I have heard that they have had problems with the tractor "breaking in half" while using the FEL. Has anyone else had or heard of this problem. I am reluctant to purchasing this tractor if it is a known problem. From my information it breaks over time. I do not have information on the capacity or the use of the tractors with the problem. They may have already address the problem if it exist.

Does anyone have any information or knowledge of this problem?

Never heard of one of these breaking in half. In fact if it has the Century C-System loader on it, I would be very surprised. The C-System loader, which is designed for this tractor, is probably the heaviest built loader on the market for a compact tractor. The mounting frame runs from the front to the rear axles, and is bolted all along the sides. It is also about 1 inch thick, and takes two men to lift one side of it.

Any brand or size of tractor, that has good stout hydraulics, and a loader frame that is light and inadequately bolted on the tractor, can, under severe conditions, cause a tractor to break in half.

That's not the case with the Century.
Besides the heavy built C-System loader, the 2028 tractor, is, itself, about the heaviest compact in its class, weighing in at 3570 pounds, without loader.

I'm gonna agree with Steve on this one.
I am a dealor for Century and have never incountered this problem, or even heard of it.
In fact, all the castings of the Century are made out of cast iron, not alumimium like many other brands and I would figure that would make it stronger.
This little dude is built like a Sherman tank!!!
