There is an idler on the belt for driving the spinning tines. The idler doesn't keep the belt tight. There is a spring that pulls the idler forward and down, but it seems it should be pulled forward and up to tighten the belt. Should there be a second spring? If so, where should the other end be?

No! The idler should be flat and the BACK side of the belt rides on it. if the idler is not flat you have the wrong one. new holland asst parts manager. hope this helps

I just bought a 467 and I can"t figure out how to adjust the roll pressure. The picture [and directions] in the [shabbily copied] owners manual do not match the machine in that the roll tension adjustment bolt does not exist, nor a hole for it! Maybe there are parts missing [there is a threaded stud sticking out that is not shown in the manual picture either] or there was a change early in the model run that was not reflected in the 22 page manual that came with the machine [serial # 111135]. May I please trouble you for an opinion?
