I have a 1944 silver king model 42 and im going to start restoring it,and i want to rebuild the motor. I didnt know if there was a kit or something out there so i could.

Parts for the F162 Continental are easily obtainable. Sealed Power Corporation makes pretty much anything you could need. These can be ordered from most auto parts stores or engine rebuilding shops. Make sure and put new valve guides in the engine. It doesn't take much wear in the guides to make these engines puff smoke.
Have the block hot tanked and check for small cracks in the cylinders and also external cracks in casting on the the soft plug side of the engine... They seem prone to this problem.
