Mel I own a Huber B and also belong to the Huber club/museum. The Hubers were built in my hometown of Marion Ohio. The serial number should be on a fairly large metal plate on the left outer frame rail under the motor. Huber built the B from 1937 to 1943. The B was produced in three colors, red grey and green. Some confusion still exists on how Huber determined what color was used.(My B is green in color) Huber used the HP205 Buda engine as the powerplant for the B,it produced about 23 drawbar horsepower. I have a list of serial numbers and may be able to help you out with the year of your tractor. Let me know!

Do you know of anybody that sells parts? I need break shoe lining, a belt pully oil seal, and a spark lever and linkage for mine. I think it is a Model L, it has a Waukasha VIK21F 4.5" by 5.25" engine, No.444924. I seem to be missing my serial number plate, so the engine number is all I have to go on. The LC's are the row-crop tractors, right?? Mine has a wide front end, and seems lower to the ground than an LC I saw at a show, so I'm assuming it is a L. Can you verify this? I contacted the museum but I haven't heard back from them in a while.
Thanks

Jeff, I think your best bet on the brake linings is to get yours relined. Check around at the older auto parts stores in your area they should be able to send them out to get relined. I would also suggest cleaning up your old seal and checking to see if a number is stamped on it. A good parts store should be able to help you out with locating a new seal. I don't have any ideas on your linkage problem. You are correct about the LC being a narrow front tractor, and the L being a wide front. You are also correct that the L/LC uses the Waukesha engine. I have an original L/LC sales brouchure in my collection if you have any more questions. Also I'm only about ten minutes from the Huber museum.

Do any of you guys know how to get the brake shoes out of one of these Huber L's, I can't figure it out! I would like to have them relined and turn down the drums a little to get rid of the roughness. I appreciate you guys' help, its hard to find any information on these old Hubers.

Go to "Tractor photos" and type in Huber and you will see my two Model L tractors for a reference.
