Kubota 8200 has a knock in the rearend. Seems to slip a gog once in a while. Before I rip into this is this a backyard mechanic project or a pay to have done? What does it sound like may have happened? Anyone experienced this before?? Is it the ring gear? Anyone know where to get a used set?

I am guessing the pinion gear has been stripped.
This is not an uncomon problem with smaller Kubotas.
Unless you have a shop I would have this job done, it is a pretty good sized project involveing removeing the rearend spindles.
Get your pocketbook good and filled up, these gears are kinda pricy, useally over a grande$$$.
Hope this helps,
K
