I know very little about the Silver King brand, but I know where an old tri-cycle SK is sitting (very rusty and probably more of a project than I can afford but...) I was wondering where I can find the model number and what kind of problems there would be in restoring it. It's rough, real rough, but I swear it cried out to me when I saw it sitting there in the brush. It's fairly complete, but probably hasn't moved in 40 years...

Thanks.

I have found a silver king all torn apart,I know nothing about it. I don't know the model #,but it looks to be a small tractor. It has a wide front end ,and was torn apart for motor work. The person lost intrest and left it sit. I would like to know how hard parts are to find. Any information would be helpful.

They have a brass plate on the transmission it can be on either side.As far as problems go manifolds rust out and often water gets into the trans/rear this rusts bearings and gears, plus it often splits open a crack and lets out all the gear oil.Don't forget engine a raditor cracks too. Most engine parts are common with avery and cletrack, most other stuff has to be made or taken from other silverking tractors. The R66 is the most common seen 3 wheeler.

You mentioned engine parts common with Cletrac and Avery. Didn't the Silver King's have Continental flathead 4-cylinder engines?

After 1940 or there abouts they went to the continental engine. The old ones used the Herk either IXA or IXB.They did use a differant govner than the avery's.I am a long way from canada but my friend just cut up an avery and I got the rods to fix my silverking.
