I am working on a Love rowcrop. It has a Chrysler
230 c.i. engine (I verified this from the crank).
It's mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that
has [NP or ND]on the top case inside of a circle
with lots of points on it. The case number has
[0-39883] stamped on it plus a {2-23-49} just
below that number. Is this a Dodge-Chrysler or
other type ? I'm getting ready to tear the tranny
down . It would help if I knew for parts. Thanks.

I was told that they where dodge, but NP sounds like New Process and they where used in dodge trucks so maybe people just think they are dodge.

It sounds like a New Process trade mark. As to model I can't help.
