Does anybody out there know what company made the rear end for the Co-op No. 2? It looks like the same brand used in the 1938-'39 Sears Economy. Thanks for any help.

Between my Dad, Uncle and me, we have 13 CO-OP tractors and three of them are no.2's. The tractors where built by The Duplex Machinery Company of Battle Creek Michigan. The Drive train however, front to rear were from Dodge Trucks, right from the chrysler industrial engine to the rear end. Along with a few other odd ball tractors like the custom, norseman, and the friday.

My grandfather bought a #2 new... it was his first tractor. He told me that the running gear (rear end and other parts) was made by dodge.

The newer #2's and 3's had rear ends made by Clark. The older 4 cylinder #2's were New Process.

The No. 2 was made by Duplex up to early 1938. I
believe they made some in house and later went to
New Process Gear.
