I'm wondering about the value of a Vaughn Flextrac crawler. So far I know it was made in Portland, OR. Has wisconsin engine and this one you sit on not walk behind. The owner offered it to me and I would like to know fair price. It runs and still has yellow paint on it. Tracks aren't pads, or padded, but like an open link chain approx. 4 inches. Whole unit is less than 6 feet long and maybe 2 1/2 feet wide.

I would think its a rare machine. They had big problems with the oridunal design of the tracks. They had metal fatigue very quickly.Whats on there might not be what came on it.I have never seen one sell or seen one listed anywhere for sale.I do have an old picture in a book somewhere. The book shows a track with no hinges and the track flexes around the sproket, something like a slinkey.Thats why they where called a flextrac.

Larry, this is kind of a "u" shaped chain if I recall. Is your picture in a book or a personal photo you have? Wonder what keeps it from wearing out the wheels or whatever they are called, in the dirt and gravel?

The picture is in an old book black and white photo. It shows a side view and its hard to say what the tracks realy would look like.A cross bar connected to the next one on alternate ends is about as good as anything i could say.flextracks may have been tested a nebraska so there could be a picture in the book the has all those tests in it.

No mention of Vaughn and/or Flextrac in C H Wendel's Book.

the vaughn flextreds were garden tractors.
most models were walk behinds.
look for them in alan king's garden tractor books.
