Did any of the Australian designed and built Chamberlain Tractors ever make it to the U.S.A.?
They were very good and were later taken over by John Deere

Re Chamberlain tractors:
These tractors were manufactured in Western Australia from about, I think, 1949. Although I was only a nipper then, I can remember my father having one of the early ones, a gasoline/kerosene Model 40K. If my memory serves me right, this tractor had twelve speeds ranging from around 1 mph to 16 mph. It was also of quite heavy construction and seldom lacked traction. It did not take Chamberlain long to change over to diesel power. By the mid-50's, almost all of their product range was diesel-powered.
The Chamberlain Champion models, released around 1955, were the quick ones with a top speed of 27 mph for the agricultural models and 30 mph for the industrial models. (Why the difference? I have no idea.) One of the Agrcultural models went around Australia with two round-Australia reliability trials for (more or less) production sedans.

Hope this helps. You have a wonderful day. Best wishes. Deas Plant.

Chamberlain tractors, there have been several private imports to the U.S. The 6G model that was backup in the first three "REDEX TRIALS" is now in the Whiteman Park collection in Perth W.A. its roadspeed is 65 MPH.//
