Hi, I want to remove the rear 38" wheels on my tractor. Removed the five bolts from the outer hub but can't break it free. I removed the four bolts on the smaller inner cover showing the axle nut and bearing. Should the wheel come off independently of the hub? I don't want to force it if I'm doing it wrong. Thanks, Gary

I assume you have a model 42, Like Larry said they are a tight fit. My best advice is to use PB Blaster or what ever on the hub and then put the tractor in gear while blocked up and try to turn the wheel to get it to loosen. Dont know if it will work for you but I got a set off the other day that had been on there for a long time the other day.

Hi Jerry. I did get it removed. I used a bottle jack and a 4x4 post and used the other wheel to jack against. Thanks. Gary

Its a little differant depending on year.On mine 24" wheeels there was a spacer on outside the wheels. Both the spacer and wheels where tight on the hub and where hard to get loose. The wheels are centered by the hub so they are a close fit.

Thanks again Larry. These wheels are offset (rearward) from the main axle housing. They're bolted to what looks like huge reduction gear housings which are bolted to the main axle housing. Gary
