I know this questions comes for the moron section, but this year, I've had nothing but over heating problems with my 4518. Took it in for service, the mechanic said dirty air filter was biggest problem. $300+ dollars later, I mow half of my lawn & park the tractor. Several hours later, I notice a large puddle underneath the tractor. I check the antifreeze overflow and it's bone dry.

Two part question. what's going on? and do I put car antifreeze into this? I can't find my manual and Honda.com doesn't have a reference manual on line.

Thanks for any help.

Dan

Clean the radiator screen and the radiator. We have a very large area to mow and have to stop regularly to clean the screen in front of the radiator. We have made it a habit to clean the radiator very thoroughly with compressed air after each use. You should also make sure the thermostat is working properly, and that none of the coolant hoses are crimped, or crimp when hot. We've had good service, for the most part, out of this lawn tractor. We have to replace the blades annually, and typically at least one of the deck belt pullies will go out each season.

I have found a guy in WI that's got several of the 42" decks for sale, new in the box.

Where is the thermostat located? I'm thinking of removing it.

Could I get the name of the supplier for the honda mowing decks. I'm also interested in a mower bag attachment.
Thanks

Have someone check your thermostat, it may be stuck or broken. If that fails, do a compression check to make sure head gasket is not leaking into coolant area. Add 50/50 mix to overflow bottle as this should be maintained at the indicated levels show on the side of the white plastic container.

I am trying to find a grass catcher for my H4518. Honda doesn't manufacture or sell them anymore. Can anyone recommend an after market fit or a place to buy a used one?

This is a message for Ron O'Bryant,

Ron did you sell the grass bagger / catcher for the 4518?
Was this amde by Honda for that model, or is it an aftermarket unit - if so what kind.
Thank You
Greg Furch
