I know that Friday tractors used Chrysler flat head six cylinder engines. But a guy I know was saying that later on they came with a V-8 Chrysler. Does any one know if this is true or not, or was he just jerking my chain?

We owned a Friday we upgraded to a 318 Chrysler V8. The tractors never came from the factory with one. We were probably not the only ones who upgraded them with larger engines.

I suppose ANYTHING is possible, but from what info
I have been able to gather, Mr. Friday stuck
pretty close to the Chrysler IND 5 & IND 6 engines
(inline 6-flatheads) after the war . Mr. Love, on
the other hand, used the what-ever theory. I've seen Dodge,Chrysler, and Plymouth 6 cyl, and I've
seen several Ford (4 & 6 cyl) in his tractors.
Never saw the 4 cyl Jeep engine, but I have seen
production pictures of them. If a Friday has a
V-8 engine in it, it would be unique.

I don't know about fridays, but chrysler had an inline 8 cylinder engine that you see in large forklifts and other construction stuff. This was a flat head engine like the ones in tractors.
