I have three ice saws made by Gifford Wood Co. in Hudson, NY. One has a 4 cylinder Buda engine, another has a 4 cylinder LeRoi and the third has a 2 cylinder LeRoi water cooled. The 2 4 cylinders run and we use them each January to cut ice. The 2 cylinder needs a lot of work on the engine and the saw.

Anyone know what happened to Gifford Wood Co.? I hope they were bought by someone so I can get manuals.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I am searching for a Gifford Wood Co. ice house pick..pointed on one end with another point coming off it at a 90 degree angle. Seen things like this to roll logs also, but these do not have twisted ends. I need one really bad for trapping and one of my two have ended up missing.
Can you help?
Thanks. Tim

hello
i guess that the real question is what happened to the leroi company...i have found a few people who have 2 cylinder engines...i'm one of them...e-mail back if you have an interest in setting up contact with others...looks to me like the 2 cylinder engines are very scarce...there are some spare parts....correct plug for the later model 2-cyl. is champion "1 COM"...although some folks run them on "0 COM" ---a hotter plug...what's the number on the 2-cyl???is it a brass plate or aluminum plate (more recent) engine????...got any idea about the original color?????...which mag does it have????

I found a tool in my sons 160 yr old home. I am a volunteer fireman and the tool looks like a short....4' Pike poll. Do you know if this is possible?
Thanks
Paul
