I have a Hefty A-616 loader backhoe. It appears to have some issue with the clutch. I run a large machine shop and have a small on at my residence. I have a parts manual with exploded veiws but no dimmensions. I have found out that the efty Division of Holtan axle and transmission closed in Juneau WI in the early 80s and the parts were sold to a machine shop in Boulder WI. I am looking for more info of any kind.

I need dimensions etc. on the 27 hp continental engine and gear ratios for the HAXco transmission. I am a student doing senior design project with others working on proposal to upgrade 2 of these tractors to diesel engine, new transmission, etc. Anything you have would help greatly.

Thanks

Seems like the Teledyne-Continental engine they used was originally the Renault Dauphine engine. Blocks still had the R in a diamond cast into them. Dauphine had 32 hp from 845cc, Gordini's (hot setup) got 40 hp out of the same 845cc.
