10 plus years ago I bought a Toro combonation front tyne tiller and trimmer style lawm mower (garage sale). The engine attaches to either. It was built in 1959 ( I had the serial number checked). I threw out the lawnmower part years ago. The tiller tynes are heavy duty and is hydraulic drive. It runs, but blows more oil than uses gas. Does anyone know anything about it, is it a collectable and does anyone want it. The front tynes beat me to a pulp. Time for a rear tyne tiller.

I worked for a power equipment dealer during the late 1960s. He advertised that he'd take anything in on trade if someone bought new. Anyway, this resulted in a huge pile of trade-in stuff that we piled out back. When the pile got really full, we scrapped it all. Wish now I'd saved some of the stuff. But, at the time, it was called junk, and not "vintage equipment." Anyway, probably half the pile was made up of Toro "Power Handles." Sounds like that's what you have. Detachable Power Handle has a little Briggs engine on it. Attaches to all kinds of things, e.g. trimmer, reel mower, snowblower, tiller, etc. I'm sure lots of people collect them. It was more of a suburban machine than a rural item. I was just looking at one at: Link
