I have just taken over the task of getting an old Hough Payloader back in service. The model is HRG and the serial number is 43623. There are a couple of items that I need to locate in order to put her back together. The first item is the steering gearbox. The box was disassembled some time ago to have the bearing replaced. It is now a basket case. I would prefer to replace the gearbox as an assembly as opposed to locating the individual internal components. The gearbox is a Saginaw 267135. If anyone knows of any resources for locating the gearbox or for it internal components, please let me know. The second item is the brake master cylinder. The master cylinder had been removed and is missing. Therefore I have nothing to match it up against. Does anyone know of a compatible master cylinder for the loader? I have digital photos of the loader and the gearbox available that I can e-mail to help identify. Also does anyone know of any Hough collector groups or associations that may exist? I have an old HAH that I have been working with for some time now and I am excited about getting the HR restored and added to my working collection. Any help that can be provided for this endeavor will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

I have a 1955 model HFC and found a master cylinder for 1948 to 52 Ford truck to be very close except where the line attachs which can be adapted. I contacted Saginaw about a parts source for my steering box and found that it was used in forklifts into the 1970's. I have to check to see if my number is the same. Grant

We had a Hough Payloader model 65, rear steer. The steering was a lot of trouble and we removed the steering box and put a hand motor in place of it and ran the hoses to the steering cylinders. It worked great until it got totally toasted in our barn fire. Still have the cab for it.
