I am still looking for any info on the Friday tractors which came factor with the V-8s. I have heard that they made some and have been told that some people have literature on them but I can not find any to back it up. Any info would be great. Thanks

None of the Friday tractors were originally built
with V-8 engines. Some were used by others as
replacements

I'm in the middle of reading "Ageless Iron" published by Successful Farming and they mention the Friday tractor as one being owned by Steve Rosenboom of Pomeroy, IA. The article says that the tractors were hand-built to suit the buyer so each one is different. It also has pictures of a very streamlined 048.

I was just looking up my name to see what would show up and I found some info on the Weber Special made by Friday and it had stories on the Friday Tractors reprinted from Gas Engine Magazine October 2000 by Robert Hall. I don't know if it will help but I thought I'd tell you so you could check it out with a Google search.

Troy,

I have a good friend who is restoring an 048. It was missing the hood and engine when he got it. He was told it had a V8 in it. Judging from the motor mounts, I would say it did. The dead giveaway is that it had the fuel tank located behind the rear axle. It was a really heavy fabricated steel tank that looked like it had been there since it was built. My buddy put a six cylinder in it, but that was before we heard that some had V8's.

Hi, I own a Friday, but it doesn't make me an authority on them! Having said that, I have read
all the information that I could find on them and
talked to two of the people that worked where the Friday tractor was built. I have never heard of one with a V8 engine. Its certainly possible that
someone could have made the conversion.

If you guys tell me what your serial number is for your particular tractor, I can find out how it was originally equipped.

Serial number is stamped on top of main frame, right side between wheels.

email me if you will, thanks
