I have a 1950's Springfield mower. It had a 6 hp engine. I have restored it. It looks and runs good now but there is one pulley underneath that runs the mower deck that is worn. It has a six sided hole in it. I was wondering if anyone might have an old one. Or, if anyone has questions about their old Springfield, let me know. I got pretty familiar with mine while restoring it.

Johnb. I would be very interested in your pulley assembly. On mine, the hex hole on the inside of the pulley is worn pretty bad. If yours is in better shape I would definitely consider buying it from you. Let me know if I can call you or something. Thanks

Dear John, I will get the assembly out from my tractor tommorrow and see if it meets your spec's. You can check with me by phone at 614 895 7874 . I would like to trade my whole unit for an old J D , that's where my interests are. If you or your friends are into springfields this one can be had at a reasonable price or trade, it's been sandblasted and painted engine smokes but runs strong transaxle rebuilt last winter. No deck. My wife says its cute but its got to go! Email is fine or call anytime 9 to 9 Thanks John b. cb-n-jb@msn.com

Bob,

I have an old Springfield mower that my father-in-law gave to me. He had it for 30 years before he gave it to me 6 or 7 years ago. The best we can figure is that is a 1950's model. I have the same problem with the pulley that John has, and haven't found anything to replace it with anywhere. I'll have a look to see if I can find a specific model number anywhere. I'm new to this. The tractor has sat in my garage for a while, but I'd like to restore it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

John, went thru all the manuals here, no 63TE-6. there is a manual for model#'s 63T,63TE,63TM,63TME,63TE-7, and 63TME-7. nothing that ends with a -6. i'll be glad to scan them in and send in e-mail, but it will take a little time there are 26 pages. no re-inbursment is expected or neccessary. I feel this board is here to help each other, not make money off those that here to accomplish something.

Dear Bob, Thanks for your response concerning the Springfield manuals. I wonder if the -6 on my model number means a horsepower? Rather than spend your time on 26 pages, I really need just belt sizes and a pencil sketch of the wiring diagram. I have no ignition switch so some info there would be helpful too. Thank you very much, John b.

Bob, I don't have a model number. I was told it was made in the 50's. I could try to get a picture of it if it would help. Let me know. Thanks.

Bob. I'm sorry I missed the e-mail. It's possible I could have deleted it without knowing what it was. Would you please try it again and I will be watching for it. Thanks a bunch!
