Hi Folks,

I have a D3006 and my battery isn't getting charged. I checked the voltage from the generator and I'm only getting 1.6V out of the generator. I took it apart to check the brushes and they are worn ... so I tried to find some replacements.

That's when I noticed (Duhh!) that this thing still has the 6V generator and voltage regulator in it ... but the battery is 12 V. So, my question to you knowledgable folks on this forum ...

Should I keep the 6V system or convert to 12 AND where can one find parts for either of the two choices??

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Put a 12 Volt alternator on it.

Email if you need a simple wiring diagram.
