I am looking for service, opperator, and parts manuals for my Beaver Satoh S-370D, does anyone know where they could be purchased? Decided I really need one after almost putting in gear oil in my transmission case (like the side pannel seems to indicate), but luckly read a message on this site regarding this issue. Any lines on replacement parts would also be apprecated. Thanks for you help!

I'm looking also. I'd like to get info about a sticky clutch, and some new decals for the same reason as you. (can't read requirements decal)
Did you receive any usable responses? Can you share with me?

Bert, I came accross a source with not only manuals, but some harder to find parts! I bought a parts and repair manual from a company called "Homestead Tractor". They are located in Apple Valley, California, web address is www.hstractor.com and their phone number is (760) 240-1062. They seem to be helpfull and I would do business with them again. Manuals are not of high quality, but they are a heck of a lot better than no manual at all. In regard to what that old decal calls for BE CAREFULL! A tip, I picked up from a gentelman (a diesel mechanic) on this message board, was in regard to the transmission oil, which I'am very thankful for; and that was: DO NOT USE 80 WT Gear oil, even though that is what the decal calls for, for the tranmission/gear box is a common reservoir for the hydraulic pump! He explained hydraulic pumps are not designed to pump gear oil. (Best I can figure it, must have been a tranlation problem going from Japaneese to English, and what they ment by "Gear oil" simply isn't what Americans think of as "Gear oil". Their are universal tractor oils avilable, from places like NAPA Auto Parts and elsewhere, which state they are also for the hydraulic systems, and they seem to work well. If you need me to write the capacities down for you, I would be happy to do that, just let me know. Sorry to get off topic, but that was tip that needs sharing with these beasts. Good luck!

Brian,
THANK YOU! The 80wt gear oil was the very thing I was ready to put in as soon as I could find and buy it. I noticed that the transmission is quite low on oil. I was looking for, but hadn't yet found, the hydraulic reservoir. I suspect that there may be a hydraulic clutch, or some kind of hydraulic assist for the clutch which is currently stuck UNengaged. (I'm almost ready to split the tractor apart to find the problem.) I'll get some hydraulic fluid and fill the transmission with that and hope that it fixes my problem. If not,--- back to splitting the thing I guess.
Anyway, thanks for your information.
Bert
