sory if my messages have doubled up but my pc crashed and i dont know what all went out. I have a alumanum 4 cyl 2 spark plug per cyl head that fits perfectly on a model A ford even the steam holes on the gasket line up. it has FUNK cast on the rear side. on the top it has heat treated--110-- and it looks like zyolit. it does not have the water outlet like the A ford it has outlet hole with bolt holes.not unlike a model T ford. it has a distributer mount boss and three 5/16 studs sticking up to mount mag/ dist. the distributer hole lines up perfectly
?#1what mag did they use/ dist. ?#2 what water pump thanks alot Joel & ajack ( ajack is a 1928 ford todor) tbcjoelnicky@aol.com ps the spark plug # champion C7 all 8 of them

My guess is the same as the others: from a Funk airplane engine, as aircraft often had dual ignition systems for safety. That head could be worth some serious dollars to the right aviation restoration buff.

My guess is that the engine had two separate ignition systems for safety reasons, if one failed the engine kept running. Magnetos would be lighter than battery systems. Magneto would eliminate the battery and generator which in turn would eliminate the starter.

The Funk Bros built airplanes before they went into the tractor retrofit line. If my memory serves me correctly, sometimes it doesn't, their early planes were powered by a Funk modified A or B engine. Visit you local airport and see if there's an EAA Chapter there. Those guys can hook you up with more info. I'll bet there's someone building a Pietenpol parasol wing homebuilt with a Model A block looking for that head.
