Does he mean Parret or Perret? They made a few steel wheeled models and at least one small rubber tired one.

To Marv from Minn That sounds exactly like the ferret in question. It does have the rubber belting over automative tires. It has an air-cooled engine that looks like a Kohler engine. Do you have any info as to who made this and how to get documentation about it. Was glad to find someone who knows it actually exists. Thank you

contact me at marvhed at ecenet .com
(you know how to fix the address)
i can e-mail some pics

the ranger was first built by the arnold company
in pengilly, mn. in 1959. they were powered by a
12hp. kohler, used a round tube frame and 2X12's for fenders. the tracks were 12" wide.

in 1963 they strengthened the frame, went to a 14hp. kohler and changed the
name to ferret. this is the model i have.

in 1970 the company was sold, moved to mankato and they changed the name to otter. you could get a 16hp single or a 20 or 23hp twin kohler engine.you could even get a front blade and back hoe. bud grant of the vikings used one for hunting and did some promos for them.the last otter was assembled in 1996. all of the
models were used by the forestry services, mining,
hunters and even salmon fishing in alaska. this info came from ron matke, one of
the last employees. i recently purchased a NOS
tracked trailer from him.

my father has an arnold farret tractor and has the original owner manual and parts list, from early 60's we think. do you know if it is possible to still get parts for them?
