I guy I work with mention that he had seen a tractor in a shed a few years ago that had galvanized sheetmetal instead of paint. Said the old timer who owned it hadn't used it in years. Any ideas on what brand it might be? I'll go check it out if I can?

THE GRAY TRACTOR HAD GALVINIZED BARN METAL COVERING THE ENGINE AND REAR WHEEL. THERE IS A PICTURE OF ONE ON DANNY ROEN'S AUCTION.

John Deere galvanized the sheet metal for some specific customers in Southeastern Texas, the salt air (and water during flooding) was murder on the un-treated metal.

If it's an OLD tractor, from the early 1900's, up to the '20's, or so, there are a number of tractors from that era that had galvanized sheet metal. I hope you can check it out, and find a name, or post a picture! The book, 'Encyclopedia of American Farm Tractors" by Wendell would probably show it.

Galvanized don"t really ring a bell, but earliest Ford Ns had aluminum hoods/grills,and the somewhat rare Silver Kings were silver colored, unk what else it might be.
