Saw an ad for 1950's friday tractor with fork lift. Anyone know the spacing between wheels. think of maybe buying for spray tractor if it could fit down 30 inch rows. Heard they are fast on road, how fast?

There are two in this area. I think 35 MPH is the speed. One of these two has power steering.

I have heard that they can reach speeds up to 60 mph. I think they have a regular truck transmission and rear axle. Im sure there are others that can help more.

A little depends on the tires. I can measures the centers on my LOVE, with the wheels set in, if you like. You might also contact George R or Terry L and see if they would measure their Fridays for you. I'm not sure the measurements are the same between an Eaton and Timken rear end so it would help to know which rear-end / axel is on the Friday. If you want, I posted my e-mail if we can help.

I measured my Love rowcrop @ 56 inches centers with the wheels (14.9 x 24) full in. This is on an Eaton (2-speed) axel. Ron's 1949 Friday gets REAL shakey over 35 mph. Hope this helps.

I LIVE 3 MI, FROM FRIDAY TRACTOR OVER 69 YEARS , OUR 2 SPEED AXEL WOULD GO 60 MPH. EASLY FRIDAY MADE 2 DIFFERENT FRIDAYS , BIG ONE WIDER REAR TIRES ,GEAR REDUCTION REAR END (EUCLID) SLOWER SPEED, IND32 MOTOR. SMALLER REAR TIRES ,IND30 MOTOR, 2 SPEED REAR END, 60 PLUS MPH, DEPENDING ON TIRE SIZE,AND FENDER SIZE ,THEY ARE A WIDE TRACTOR ,TO WIDE FOR 30 IN,ROW,THAT IS WHY THEY DONT USE THEM MUCH ANY MORE, UNLESS YOU HAVE WIDE ORCHARD ROWS,

Hi,
I learned to drive tractor at age 8 on a friday tractor. It had a ford model B engine.
We also had a 1934 Love tractor, it also had a Ford model B engine. I have spent many hours on friday cyl. tractors. I lived 2mi. north west of Keeler Mi. I met you at the hartford fair grounds several years ago. You had a Friday tractor there for sale. I wish I had bought it. I was raised on the Ralph Fellows Farm. He was my great uncle.
