I've got a 10 row 2 grain seed drill that I aquired from the family of the original owner. It was manufactured by the American Seeding Machine Co at the Bickford & Huffman plant in NY. Says "Farmers Favorite" on the side. The last patent date is in 1903.It is in suprisingly good condition.(still has most of the instructions pasted inside the box). It has been converted from horse drawn to be pulled by a tractor. What I was wondering is if anyone had any ideas where I could find values for such an item.I've tried watching Ebay and such but have not seen any. I've been able to find a little history by searching the internet, but none for sale. Any help would be appreciated.

I would like to know a little more about the history of the drill. How can I contact you? Evidently there was more than one American Seeding company.

From my understanding The American Seeding Machine Co. was formed in 1903 combining several different companies including:

Hoosier Drill Co. of Milton, Ohio
P.P. Mast and Co. of Springfield, Ohio
Superior Drill Co.
Empire Drill Co.
Bickford & Huffman of Macedon, NY

I believe Oliver Farm Equipment was formed by merging American Seeding Machine Co., Hart-Par, Nichols & Shepard Co., and Oliver Chilled Plow Works in 1929.

That is about as much information as I have been able to find. How accurate it is, I"m not sure yet. I still need to do more research. :)

Feel free to email me. gannclan@netpenny.net
