A while back I posted that I had an opportunity to buy a mystery Fiat diesel... that mystery has been solved and it is indeed a Fiat 411R.

It is complete and runs well but is in rough shape (physically). Very rusty and rough. One new rear tire, two new fronts. New tierods. New batteries. New fluid and filters. Starter has one bad brush and wire, cranks weak. Pull starts immediately. Glow plugs are in good condition. No lights of any sort, not even the housings.

The tractor is currently up at a friend"s cottage up north so it is not handy to look over more closely. I already have it"s front-end loader here but I don"t think it is the original one, as it has really crude looking home-made mounting brackets on the bottom that included wooden pieces. It was really rickety so they pulled it off (and gave it to me regardless of whether I buy the tractor or not).

I am looking for what people think I should pay for this machine. I am not looking for a beauty queen, I need a decent older tractor for chores on a hobby farm and to load rock salt for my plowing biz in the winter.

Any stories, opinions, or things to look for are greatly appreciated. He is still hemming and hawwing on a price but now there is someone else interested too.

I have just done some work on a Fiat 411r for a farmer near Ottawa. It needed front end work and some electrical work. Also did a complete paint job. Could not find a picture of this tractor with original colours. I painted it Cockshutt cream on the hood and fenders and red and the engine and trany. I turned out really nice. There is a tractor scrap yard near Ottawa that has 411r if you might need parts.
