Hi there.

I have an old Gibsopn Model A (I think it is 1948) and was wondering if any one has an idea at the value. It was running about 10 years ago, but has sat since. It is not restored, but it is complete and can be restored fairly easily (I think!). It would need new rubber.

Thanks for the help.

I am beginning to believe old tractors are as bad as realestate. 1. location, location, location 2. Timing 3. Demand. I have paid 75 to 300 dollars for several Gibson A's in the condition you describe. But if there happens to be someone close buy that wants what you have when you have it and they don't have to travel far with the cost of fuel, you will get more. How soon does it have to move or can you just let it set? Are you paying for advertising? I live on a main highway and usually am not in a hurry to sell, so am allowed some latitude in pricing. Also watch ebay they sell on there monthly. Some old Gibsons just go for lawn ornaments, and people will pay more for those, go figure, sad use of good iron. Also look at your area where you live. How much disposable income do people have? People like to visit and they will pay for a conversation piece. How will they pay? Depends on how much they like to talk. Still don't know? Good! Last piece of advice. As I said before, people like to talk and they will talk about how and WHO they bought the tractor from and how they were treated. Treat them well and you will be well talked about.
