I have 1962 and 1963 Jacobsen Tractors. I would like to add headlights to one or both of them. I was able to pick up a Jacobsen headlight kit but something appears to be missing. Anyone have headlights and maybe a parts drawing?

What exactly is a "chief" tractor, I know a guy who found one in the weeds earlier this week. He claims it is a 4-wheel-drive tractor and it has short squatty tires, possibly used to tug airplanes. But I have no idea what it is, do you have any comments on my question, I figured I would ask you since there is "Chief" written in your heading.
thanks,
jeff r

The Jacobsen Chief series tractors are from the sixties or a little bit earlier. They were 2WD lawn and garden tractors. I have seen them with 8, 10 and 12 HP Kohler engines.

I also have a 1962 Jacobsen tractor. Not sure we're talking about the same model though. Mine is a 2WD tractor designed by Joseph A. Hill in 1961 and patented in 1962. He was an assignor to Jacobsen Manufacturing Company. If it helps, it's main characteristics are a cast iron dash and front axle, a 7 HP Kohler engine (crank shaft comes out on each side), wing-type mud gards, lifting arm on the right... Hope this helps..
