I am seeking information on my home-brew tractor with a JD LUC engine.
It has a B F Avery A frame & running gear.

I'm happy with it, but would like to assemble a history.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

The post on this forum today about the General tractor for parts is what you need to respond to. The General is the forerunner of the Avety A. Cleveland Tractor Co., (Cletrac) sold the General production rites and tooling to B.F. Avery when they decided in 1939 or 1940 to focus only on crawler tractors. Look for a guy on this site that posts under the name of "Alberta Mike",his real name is Mike Ballish(sp?) he has written up a short history of the line. I used to have an Avery A, but traded it for an Earthmaster last year. Gene Davis

Thanks, Gene - I really didn't think I would actually find the guy who put this together, but it is always worth a try.
I bought it out of Mich, and he (dealer), got it from another dealer in W TN, and it could have gone thru many other hands since the LUC was added.
However, I'm gonna enjoy the little thing, and what else do us retired guys do? Thanks again
