Bad motor, D262 in a Hough C50 payloader

i need help have a Hough H-50C payloader, that has a D262 diesel motor. the piston has pulled a cylinder liner down in the oil pan. can someone tell me why this happened and how to fix it. or can someone suggest a different motor that i can replace it with gas or diesel, without to many modification

Sounds like that engine has the heavy press liners with the small flare rather than the flange type (light press liners ). IH was so sure that those liners would stay where you put them (.045 ) above deck that in the service manual it says that it would still be alright if the liner is only .020 + above deck. If that job came in my shop , I would bore the block ,install a repair sleeve ,& bore the sleeve to fit the cylinder liner. If that block has the liners that I think it has,
I would change it to the flange type liners. All
that is required to change is to set up a boring
bar and cut the counterbores for the flanges and hone .001 out of each cyl bore to make it a light
press .

I have changed several to flange type , mostly
in 150 crawler loaders , but some in 560 and 706 tractors.
