Hello,
I got a deutz D65 (F4L514). I want to know how to hook up the batteries. i think its a 24 volt starter. theres 1 ground cable, 1 for the starter and 2 on a relay box. whicg goes where? is this thing a pos or negative ground? Do the glow plugs use 24 volts? just got this thing running, would like to use the electrical on it instead of pull-starting all the time. Thanks ,
Russ

The relay box is actually a converter steps down power for lights and accs.you dont need it to just get your tractor started.deutz does not need glow plugs they will start when nothing else will! to get starter functioning without box: wire to ground on (-)neg of 1 battery, short cable from (+)pos of 1st battery to neg (-)
of 2nd battery, cable from (+) pos of 2nd battery to 3/8 stud on starter run smaller wire(#10) fom this same 3/8 stud to pushbutton switch (momentary contact)run 2nd #10 wire from smaller stud on starter(beside larger stud)to other side of pushbutton switch. This will wire around box.If you wish to keep box I have an original wiring diagram as well, email me for info. What type yaer of deutz do you have?
Hope I helped.

1 Plus cable to the starter, connection minus from the first to plus of the second battery. Minus of the second battery to ground, ground is negative.
Take a look at the glow plugs, must be written on them, but they should have 24 Volts, too.

this has some kind of electrical box instead of a cable going from positive on bat No.1 to neg on Bat No.2

the box has 2 battery cables on it. which one goes to the negative and which one goes to the positive? i would hate to hook it up wrong and fry something.

thanks, russ

the clamps must be signed with + and -. If not the + pole on battery has a bit more in diameter, even the clamb should have.
