If you need a 50 hp utility tractor, why an Eicher? For $5000 to 10,0000 you can buy many US made utititles. UNLESS you want a New tractor. How about the Japanese gray market tractors? Low hours, often with FWA for around $10,0000. Bryan

Are You sure that this is a german made Eicher? A 485 should be an orchard type. If it is a 4085 it has a Perkins engine and a Perkins tranny.
The Deutz engine was built into the Eichers in the 50´. Eicher mostly mounted own eicher aircooled engines into the tractors..

Hi Bernhard,
yes it,s a 485 type with the 3,cyl 51 Horse Deutz engine,
Red,with black & white decal,s,
Bernhard,he want,s 13,500,or 14000 for it which i think is way too much,
he has 2 of them, and i think their 2 yrs old,
which is why I think he has them priced too high,
Please get back to me on this ok Bernhard,
Thank,s alot,
Kirk C,

Hi Kirk,

if the tractor is red and black it is defintivly no german made Eicher. This ones had been blue.
Check out this:>Link

and I think You mean this one:

ok...it is blue, instead of red, but this is an indian Eicher and has no Deutz engine.

And Yes, the price for an used one is too high. The Eicher 586 (50 hp instead of 42) was offered her in 2002 for 12.000 €, new.
