Hello, I have a very good condition, verging on excellent, Leyland 344. I am thinking about selling it. What is such a tracotr worth? Any ideas?

thanks

Carl

These units don't usually fetch good money. But it's a matter of what's needed in your area. If there are small acreage farms in your area, try displaying it with a bush hog attached to it or something that would be needed in your area. Or find an old loader that would fit to it, maybe it would bring up its value.

Unfamiliar with 344 Leland.
A Leland 270 turbo was the first diesel on this farm. Worked out so well we’ve added 4 more diesels: 4010 JD, 2 1850 Ollie’s and 2150 Ollie. Parts were easy to get all them years ago when we re-bushed entire front end. Haven’t needed a single part since. Oops, last Battery lasted over eleven years. Have tightened engine bolts a number of times and soldered radiator mounting bracket. It does what’s asked of it and keeps plodding on. This was a $2400.00 trade, back then, with it having near zero hrs on fresh engine overhaul. Other’s fright over owning such a machine could well be your bargaining chip. Wish I could tell more.

Depends on condition, location, and who wants it (just like everything else). Since these are considered oddball tractors alot of people will not even look at them thinking that they would be a nightmare to repair if it became necesary. Truth is, they are some pretty stout tractors and parts are readily available so the issue becomes one more of image than anything. You typically see these go for 3-4000 depending on condition and location. Ironsearch seems to have a few Leylands, Nuffields, and BMCs listed every time I go look so you might check there for ideas.
