Hey guys, i found out the model of that tractor i was looking at is a 2360. I know it has dry brakes, are they hard to change? do they last a good while under normal use, i have other tractors to use so this won't be the only one.

To change the brake bands, you have to remove the wheel and then the final drive. It is a heavy job, but not too complicated. While in there, change the oil seals also. Generally, they last a pretty long time. There is a bit of a trick to remove the band and swivel from the housing and putting the new one back. An allen screw fastens one side of the swivel to the band and it must be removed to take the band out of the housing. The new band is placed in the housing and then the swivel is attached to the band while in the housing. Hope this helps. A manual would be a good investment.

hey jim, this tractor has a loader on it, i'm not sure if it is the grey or black long loader, what is the difference in the two? i've seen some tractors with the grey and the black, were they quick attach in the mid 90's?

I had a Long loader I bought new in 97 that was gray. The loader came on and off the tractor easy but the bucket and hay spear, you had to knock 4 pins out to change those. After Farmtrac bought into Long they started making the black loader with the quick attatch for the buckets and such. I have a 5540 loader on my Farmtrac now and it has the spring loaded pins to lock the bucket in. Real fast to change to the hay spear now.

Farmtrac now has changed the loader so skid steer attacthments work on the loaders but still make the style like the 5540 I have. The newest loader is blue.

I have only seen Black loaders on Longs. That is what the ones that the local dealer had. I can't help you with the quick attach thing. Maybe the owner would know? You can tell if you know what to look for. The two spring-loaded levers push the pins into place at the bottom of the implement and the front plate of the loader hooks into the top of the implement. I don't know of a better way to describe it, but that is how mine is - a 2004 model. Anything that will fit a Bobcat or Skidsteer will fit mine, a Woods loader. Hope this helps.
