If you do not know when they were last changed, change both of them. After changing both of them, I usually change the lower one by itself next, and at the next change, I do them both. On my Long, I can only drain the condensate from the lower filter. The lower filter will be much dirtier than the upper one since fuel passes through the lower one first. I have had my 445 for 25 years. It is in the hayfield now with the haybine behind it and ready to go. Hope this helps.

Just read this and also your oil and filterpost. I think your tractor would have the same recommendations as an Oliver-Fiat built unit. You want me to look in my manual? Stick with the Shell 15-40. On the fuel filter I would change them both in the spring and drain the condensate out of them every once in a while. How many hours do you get on the tractor in a year? Where do you live and do you have a fuel filter on your diesel tank from where you fill the tractor? More questions? By the way the oil filter does cross over to a Ford filter on an Oliver. The Ford filter was smaller in size than the OE filter. J

What do you call "central wv?" I do some work for the WV highway department from time to time and travel to all 10 districts. What model Olivers does your friend have. I was basing my information on the Fiat built Olivers we serviced. J.
